The Fountain Of Living Water
 
My soul cries out for discernment,
The sound of my voice for understanding.
Like for a hidden treasure,
My heart searches your truth, O Lord,
And delights in your counsel.
Day and night it seeks your face,
That I should know You more
And reverence Thee, my Lord!
 
You are the Fountain of Living Water.
The Lord our Redeemer is your name.
You give knowledge and understanding
To those who seek after You,
And life to the contrite heart and broken spirit.
You are our shield against the sting of death;
You guide those who fear You on the path of life.
 
O Lord, let your Word abide in me,
And deliver me from the ways of evil;
Let not my heart seek the ways of darkness.
Your Word, O Lord, is health to my flesh
And strength to my bones.
 
Who is like You, O Blessed King?
In the hollow of your hand
You have measured the waters,
Numbered the specks of dust,
And weighed the sand that covers the earth.
You have scaled the mountains and the hills,
And with your handbreadth,
Have measured the empyrean.
 
You descended from on high, O Mighty Saviour,
In the likeness of man,
And drank the bitter cup reserved for me.
To the joy of my heart, O gracious One,
You have bestowed your countenance upon me,
Pouring over my soul
The riches of your tender mercies,
And cleansing me of all my filths.
 
My soul, O Lord, basks in the spring of salvation
That flows from your side
And drenches my soul with everlasting life.
To the praise of your glory, O merciful King,
My mouth forever shall proclaim
Your unrivaled greatness and uniqueness,
And my tongue declare your supreme goodness.
Be exalted, O glorious King!
For there is no life without Thee.
